Some games of course allow you to manually edit resolutions, usually in ini/config files.ĪMID EVIL is weird/awesome in allowing you to edit it right inside the game in the options menu though, not sure if I've seen any game allowing that before. Sometimes 1280x720 is enough, but that is still an HD resolution "technically", so when I need the fps boost I need to drop it further, usually games only support 4:3 aspect ratios under those resolutions sadly, and not lower 16:9 ones. Perhaps check the DUSK post I linked if you could inquire further about this stealth change Unity added in their update?Īnother benefit of exclusive fullscreen is that if you have to use another aspect ratios resolution (as the game might not have access to more exotic custom resolutions, like 960x540) is that it stretches the resolution to fit the screen, without black borders.Īs I have a typical 16:9 screen, with 1920x1080 native resolution, I can't expect to play everything at that resolution, so I tend to drop it first for the biggest boost. We'll double check though, thanks for the heads up! Sadly I'm not sure what terminology it goes under in Unity as I don't really edit it, just have the experience with playing some unity games and almost always having to use the -window-mode exclusive command to gain the performance/stability/smoother look benefits, also of course the differences in plenty of other games that have the options for borderless/exclusive. Activate the trainer options by checking boxes or setting values from 0 to 1 You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. I assume that means, if you have 2 monitors your mouse won't leave the main window. Click the PC icon in Cheat Engine in order to select the game process. I'm not sure if we have it set to exclusive though. Originally posted by Jason:We've gone through and done a pass at fullscreen (It's how I work in the editor atm). So I hope you'll remember to support proper exclusive fullscreen mode in Prodeus for the performance, stability and smoother blurrier pixelation it provides for us budget gamers :) Whereas in exclusive fullscreen mode it just stretches the pixels in a more natural way that slightly blurs and smooths them out. Historically Unity has hidden exclusive fullscreen behind a launch command parameter, and I think an engine update that came out recently hid it even more so that developers needed to make sure that some setting was turned on in their tweaking so that you could activate proper fullscreen resolution (there's a post about it on the DUSK forum)īorderless Windowed mode runs slower in my experience than exclusive fullscreen (more stuff it has to keep track of in the background?), and not only that, but if you lower your resolution (as I would have to do to gain better performance), the pixelation is much more harsh and jagged in borderless mode due to how it handles the halving of pixels while maintaining the native resolution of your desktop. I think I saw on your twitter mention of Unity, so I believe it's built upon the Unity Engine?Ĭould you make sure exclusive fullscreen will still be an option in your game for performance reasons?
